Supplies

  • Yarn: Yarn and Colors Must Have (100% mercerized cotton, 50g/125m)

Pepper 032, Green Beryl 077, Mustard 015, Cream 002, Clematis 057, Nordic Blue 064: one skein each

(This is just a proposition. You can use literally any yarn you have in your stash, keeping in mind that different weight yarn will result in different finished size. For yarn given above, approx 10g of yarn were used to make one complete star.)

  • A 3 mm (US D/3) hook
  • Stuffing
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors

Gauge

6 rounds of sc measure 5cm/2”. Not critical for this project.

Finished Size

Star measures 11cm/4” in diameter.

Abbreviations (in US terms)

beg – beginning

ch – chain

sc – single crochet

sl st – slip stitch

st(s) – stitch(es)

yo – yarn over

Notes

Stars are crocheted entirely with single crochet stitch. Center is crocheted in rounds, next, rays are added in decreasing rows. Chain 1 does not count as stitch throughout.

Make two stars and join them, working sc st along outer edges, adding a loop on top of one of rays. Stuff lightly before finishing.

Stars can be made in any color combination, here are a few examples:
